Who's NewsBig Brothers Big Sisters Names Its Bigs of the Year January 26, 2006 Jennifer Omaran, a junior at High Point University was named our college student Big of the Year. She is matched with a child at Kirkman Park Elementary in the Kinder Buddy Program. Omran has been involved with BBBS for 3 years. Lenora McCandles, is our BIGS in Schools volunteer of the year. She has been matched with her Little Sister for 3 years. Kathy Tashie, is our Big Sister of the Yeaar. She is an Oak Ridge resident who spends time with her Little Sister doing everything from baking to hanging out at the mall. She has been matched with her Little Sister for a year and a half. Whitney McCoy, is our High School Big of the Year. Whitney has been a part of BBBS for over two years. She is a senior this year and has been an asset to BBBS. John Kennett, Jr. was named our new Board Chairman for the 2007 board year. John works with Freeman Kennett Architects, a local architectural firm. Danielle Duncan & Shante Mumford, are in our High School Bigs Program. Both play basketball for Ragsdale and were featured in the High Point Enterprise’s Sports section for their work off the courts with their Little Sisters.
